Ontario Soccer develops and delivers exceptional and sustainable programs and services throughout Ontario with the mission of providing leadership and support for the advancement of soccer in collaboration and cooperation with our membership, partners and other stakeholders.

Ontario Soccer operates the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL).

An overall goal of Ontario Soccer is to assist with the development of soccer as a healthy lifestyle choice, provide a talented pathway for players to excel and encourage community involvement at all levels.

Position Summary:
Ontario Soccer’s Coach Development program is responsible for the management, coordination and delivery of education courses, in alignment with Canada Soccer’s Coach Pathway, to the membership. To better prepare the future growth and expansion of programming offered to coaches throughout the province, Ontario Soccer is seeking qualified individuals interested in becoming
Learning Facilitators.

Ontario Soccer’s Learning Facilitators hold a tremendously important role in the delivery of Canada
Soccer’s Grassroots Coach Education as well as acting as a champion for the principles of Long
- Term Player Development (LTPD). As a Learning Facilitator, individuals take on the responsibility for training, developing and mentoring of coaches who are looking to enhance their own individual experience and qualifications through formal certification programs.

The Learning Facilitator role is also the entry point in the Coach Educator pathway that acts as a pre
- requisite to becoming a Coach Developer; a role that provides opportunities to deliver formal coach education such as the National C Licence or Ontario Soccer specific courses.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Facilitate the following Canada Soccer Grassroots Coach Education (GCE’s) in Ontario: o Active Start o Fundamentals o Learn to Train o Soccer for Life
- Observe coaches during the practical component of the course and provide high quality, meaningful feedback which empowers these coaches to become more confident and self
- aware
- Create an interactive learning environment through modeling positive and engaging behaviours throughout the delivery of the GCE courses
- Inspire coaches by ensuring that all program commitments are met to the highest standards at all times
- Deliver Ontario Soccer provided material and content
- Treat all GCE course participants and hosts with respect and dignity
- Ensure the most up-to-date availability exists at all times on Ontario Soccer’s Course

Management System
- Facilitate GCE courses by following the agreed upon delivery schedule with Ontario Soccer and the host
- Serve as an ambassador for the game of soccer in Ontario representing both Canada Soccer and Ontario Soccer’s best practices in all interactions throughout the soccer community
- Attend, in their entirety, all of Ontario Soccer’s Learning Facilitator meetings and continuing education sessions
- Communicate and cooperate with the assigned Master Coach Developer (MCD) who will be available to support and evaluate facilitations
- Take lead on the necessary preparation for GCE delivery as assigned
- Conduct on-field coaching session as per Ontario Soccer provided guidelines from Canada

Soccer on GCE practice delivery
- Execute practical components of the on-field sessions in an effective and efficient manner
- Prepare and be familiar with course content ahead of time and accurately plan based upon participant numbers
- Provide a post-course report to the Coordinator, Coach Education within 2 weeks and provide any other information to Ontario Soccer as requested from time to time
- Complete written self-assessments post-course delivery within 2 weeks, using provided templates
- Adhere to the Ontario Soccer Coach Development Code of conduct and Learning Facilitator

Agreement

**Experience and Skills**
- A minimum of 5 years coaching experience
- Strong leadership, teaching, organization and communication skills
- Good understanding of team dynamics and a team player
- Well-developed time and people management skills
- Personal commitment to continual professional development and learning
- Previous learning facilitator and/or teaching experience is considered an asset
- In depth understanding of the Ontar
