Purchasing & Inventory Specialist [hybrid]

We are looking for a purchasing & inventory specialist to order and manage replacement parts that are essential for our customer service department’s day-to-day operations. Ultimately, you will ensure that inventory levels are maintained as well as maintaining good relationships with key suppliers to ensure parts are processed and delivered on time. Manage inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations of purchase orders.
**Some responsibilities include**:
1. To monitor and maintain inventory levels.
2. Manage backorders.
3. Prepare, maintain, and review purchase orders, reports and price lists.
4. Review and analyze pricing of replacement parts.
5. Scheduling of containers from overseas direct to Montreal and ensuring that parts are well prepared and strapped prior to loading.
6. Track the status of purchase orders and carefully monitor past due ready dates.
7. Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite containers, resolve missed or late deliveries, and other issues.
8. Validate costs of purchase orders, and forward invoices to appropriate department.
10. Respond to all inquiries made by Customer Service as it relates to parts and estimated dates order can be fulfilled.
11. Other duties as assigned by management.
**Qualifications**:
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in purchasing, inventory replenishment, supply chain or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with ERP (Infor XA Power Link or Mapics an asset)
- Understanding of supply chain (experience with Asian supply chain an asset)
- Proficient in MS word, excel spreadsheets, outlook and word processing software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (English & French)
- College degree or higher.

Full Time
Monday to Friday (8:30AM - 5:00PM) Eastern
Hybrid schedule - works in Montreal, QC
