Kitchen Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Kitchen Coordinator at Centre 105 is responsible for managing daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, food inventory management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This role requires strong organizational skills, culinary expertise, and the ability to maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Kitchen Operations: Set up, maintain cleanliness, and ensure readiness for meal service.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare a weekly menu, cook meals, and accommodate dietary restrictions.
- Inventory Management: Purchase supplies, manage food donations, and maintain accurate inventory.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to food handling protocols and maintain necessary certifications.
- Volunteer Coordination: Train and supervise kitchen volunteers.
- Community Engagement: Assist with meal distribution and ensure a welcoming environment.
- Event Support: Help prepare and serve at events, and assist with setup and cleanup.
- End-of-Day Responsibilities: Clean and organize the kitchen, store leftovers, and prepare for the next day.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in kitchen management or a similar role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent culinary skills with an understanding of nutrition and dietary needs.
- Certification in Safe Food Handling is an asset.
- Training in Occupational Health and Safety, First Aid, and WHMIS is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Access to a reliable vehicle for picking up food supplies and donations.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
