**Job Overview**

**Duties**:

- Assist physicians with examinations.
- Directing and escorting patients to examination rooms; preparing rooms and patients for physicals, and tidying rooms after patient encounters. Measure blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and patient weight and height
- Relaying patient concerns and information to the appropriate member of the health care team.
- Cleaning and stocking examining rooms and other designated areas with necessary supplies.
- Responsible for maintaining medical supplies.
- Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining instruments and equipment as directed.
- Performing general service duties including preparing requisitions and samples to send out to labs, reports, inventory control; writing medical letters and sick notes under the physician’s supervision
- Responsible for housekeeping duties as required (eg: launder patient gowns/sheets, ensure patient washrooms are clean and stocked)
- Ensure good working order of medical equipment and knowledge of use.
- Operate scanning and printing equipment according to established procedures to convert information on a paper document into a digital image that can be accessed and viewed by a computer terminal.
- Maintaining computers and printers in each exam room, ensuring they are in working order; opening patient charts before the physician gets in the room; inserting appropriate stamps into charts in preparation for the Physician
- Other duties as required.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**
- High school diploma and successful completion of/or current enrolment in a medical administrative program such as Medical Office Assistant.
- Excellent understanding and regular use of medical terminology
- Being at ease with new technology and EMRs. Previous Oscar EMR software experience is an asset. Excellent computer skills
- Positive attitude, pleasant and professional manner in person and over the phone. Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Forward thinker, Excellent problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member to achieve desired results. Fast learner
- Excellence in customer service. Exceptional interpersonal/communication skills.

- Language requirements: English - MUST speak Spanish
- Prior experience working in a Primary Care setting is an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Schedule:

- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Medical Office Assistance: 1 year (preferred)
