Reporting to the Director, Indigenous Relations, the Advisor, Indigenous Relations is responsible for facilitating the execution of the Nutrien Indigenous Relations Strategy through meaningful collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.

**What you will do**:

- Lead the development, and function of the Indigenous Internship Program (IIP) supporting recruitment, placements, and professional development supporting successful outcomes.
- Support the development and ongoing management of relationships between Nutrien and organizations advancing econmic reconciliation.
- This includes aligning relationships with Nutrien’s core value of Inclusion and our priority of positive impacts in the communities where we operate.
- Support opportunities for Indigenous people to have meaningful careers in our offices and operations with the goal to become representative across all job categories.
- Lead the engagement of Indigenous community organizations for investment and programming closing the education and workforce gaps Indigenous people face.
- Support Operating Segment and Corporate Functional teams to achieve Indigenous Strategy goals across our entire valuechain.
- Develop communication materials and tools to communicate our commitment and drive culture change internally and externally for Indigenous inclusion across our value chain.
- Engage and support Talent and Organizational Development to build capacity in our processes and competency in our people for meaningful impact, internally and externally, and increased Indigenous inclusion.
- Travel as needed (at times internationally), Travel at times may exceed ~25%.

**What you will bring**:

- Bachelors Degree in business-related field, social sciences or community development and governance & 2 years of related experience, OR a combination of formal education through a recognized post-secondary institution & 7 years of directly related experience in the following areas:

- Community development.
- Indigenous Relations.
- Experience advancing reconciliation.
- Comprehensive understanding of Canada’s history and the resulting challenges facing Indigenous communities and people.
- Experience as a change agent to eliminate the challenges and barriers faced by Indigenous communities and people.
- Experience developing relationships with community and Indigenous-led organizations to have positive impact improving the quality of life of Indigenous people, families and communities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team, as a facilitator and individually.
- Strong ability to build and evolve relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to resolve conflict and achieve mutually-agreeable solutions.
- Experience in attracting Indigenous talent into careers would be considered an asset but is not required.
- Experience in communication activities to increase community, and industry, commitment to act on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action and make positive impact in Indigenous communities would be considered an asset but is not requried.
- Experience measuring and analyzing outcomes and impacts of strategy tactics would be considered an asset but is not requried.
