4-H is a youth development organization that guides, supports and inspires Alberta’s greatest resource, the youth of Alberta. We are Alberta’s premier youth organization that encourages youth to learn to do by doing, and empowers them to become leaders and volunteers in their clubs, communities, countries, and the world.

**4-H Alberta’s Club Initiative**

Unlike traditional 4-H Clubs that operate year-round, Intro-Clubs offer youth aged 9 to 16 a brief introduction to 4-H's offerings within a six-week timeframe. Participants will engage in hands-on projects and develop essential skills such as leadership, public speaking, and community service. This “taste of 4-H” format caters to those seeking a short-term commitment or new members wanting to explore 4-H before joining a conventional club.

The primary objective of this program is to enhance participation among new members and improve retention rates within the organization.

**Responsibilities of the Junior Intro-Club Program Coordinator**
- Prepare, implement and evaluate the new 6-week Intro Club program
- Facilitate safe, inclusive, and fun programming for all 4-H ages
- Foster a member centres and adult-youth partnership based format
- Make connections in the community for possible project support, facilities, and more
- Support the marketing team to promote the clubs
- Be the point of contact for these new clubs for potential and current members and their families
- Coordinate volunteer leaders for the clubs by supporting their role, screening and training, and new format for the clubs. These roles will support the programming and ratio
- Support other areas in 4-H Alberta when required
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

**Position Requirements**
- An education background in child development, education, or another related field
- Able to work independently, and collaboratively, as part of a team
- Available to work full time for the year with peak times from September to December and January to May
- Must be flexible to work outside of scheduled hours (evenings and weekends) to run clubs and assist with other special programs as required
- 4-H experience is an asset
- A valid drivers licence and access to a vehicle
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED (Level C) certification or ability to obtain prior to start date
- Complete Youth Safety Training, Commit to Kids Training and Violence & Harassment for Workers prior to facilitating an intro-club
- Ability to obtain a clear police check with a vulnerable sector check prior to start date
- Experience working with youth, specifically with youth programming
- Position requires high energy, excellent leadership skills and the ability to have fun during operations of the club Comfortable instructing and working directly with youth of all ages
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage high volumes of administrative tasks during peak times
- Computer literacy, comfortable working on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram)
- Able to efficiently manage time within designated work hours

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
