The **Canada China Business Council** **(CCBC)** is currently seeking a highly motivated sales professional to join our team. The role of **Business Development Manager, Quebec Chapter **is a dynamic, demanding position with diverse responsibilities, including member recruitment, revenue generation, member service management, event management, government relations, and determining how **CCBC **can develop and adapt its services to the needs of companies working with China, and for Chinese companies investing or conducting business in QC, and Ottawa.

**Business Development Manager, Quebec Chapter**

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Identify and recruit prospective members
- Communicate regularly with existing members; maintain positive relationships to help ensure membership retention
- Drive membership retention by delivering excellent corporate member service on a variety of Canada-China business issues/requests
- Identify and create opportunities for CCBC service contracts, including delegation/mission services region wide and incubation center rental/HR services in Montreal and China
- Plan, prepare, and execute high-quality CCBC events, identify future event opportunities and contribute to a compelling annual calendar of engaging events
- Promote awareness of the CCBC and its services throughout the region
- Provide supervising Chapter Director with input to annual budget and business plan. Ensure all activities are within agreed budgetary parameters
- Create and communicate sponsorship packages and benefits
- Monitor important developments in local politics (provincial and municipal)
- File Chapter status reports and update member database system
- Coordinate with other CCBC offices regarding Council’s activities and initiatives, as well as incoming and outgoing missions when required
- As assigned, assist with planning and implementation of other CCBC-related activities, regardless of location.
- Schedule and coordinate regular travel within QC to ensure in-person interaction as appropriate.

**Qualifications & Attributes**:

- University degree with a major in Business or International Relations preferred, graduate degree an asset
- Experience in sales and revenue generation (min two years). Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed targets.
- Exceptional communication, business development and networking abilities. Diligent relationship building and dedicated follow-through. Professional appearance and comportment is a must.
- Ability to research information relevant to the needs of members, as well as identify potential member companies based on their opportunities to succeed in China
- Ability to exercise sound judgment while performing complex duties simultaneously, and handle pressure and confidential matters with tact and discretion
- Travel, work, and/or education experience in China a plus. A strong understanding of Canadian and Chinese business cultures, history, and Canada-China relations will be prioritized.
- Strong familiarity with the business, government, academic and NGO communities in Eastern Canada
- Event management experience
- Native level spoken and written French, fluent in English. Mandarin skills a definite asset but not required
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Great team player, able to work with remote management and colleagues across multiple cities
