**Prgram Overview**:Delivery of a multi use space (performing art studio, office space, meeting space). This space will serve as a safe space for youth as well as an outlet for young artists to nurture and share their artistic talents.

The Malton Black Development Association is a registered non-profit organization of residents dedicated to fostering good inter-community relationships in the Malton area and beyond, through educational, cultural and social activities. Some of our objectives are to:
1. Work cooperatively with parents, guardians and all stakeholders to improve the academic standing of primarily underachieving, Black students in the Canadian educational setting.

2. Mentor and empower Black adults to participate constructively in the decision-making level of our educational system that impacts on their families, friends and acquaintances.

3. Meet regularly to brainstorm issues that affect our community, and to provide viable solutions/alternatives to such issues for the enhancement of our community.

**Project Goals**:The Malton Black Development Association is seeking proposals for a Project Coordinator. The Project Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the Malton Black Development Association in developing a performing arts space that maximizes purposeful youth engagement in the performing arts.

Project Coordinator Role will engage and guide the stakeholders through the design, delivery and close-out phases.

**Scope of Work**:
1. Collect data for decision on art forms and explore + marketing
- Work with MBDA and Program directors to review and assess the requirements for the space based on the program needs.

2. Coordinate the design and renovation of the programming space
▪ Renovation
▪ Equipment selection and setup

3. Secure consultancy to complete design of the various programs
▪ Decision on art forms to start with and explore in the medium term
▪ Curriculum for the selected art forms
▪ Event plans for the art forms at least year 1 and 2
▪ Staffing requirements and Recommendations for the space
▪ Updates to Onboarding Material for Future Staff and Volunteers

4. Secure consultancy to evaluate the effectiveness of the program and document key learnings

▪ Evaluation of program and service design and prospective uptake
▪ Extrapolation of recommendations for MBDA and other agencies

▪ Track goals, progress, and deadlines and provide summary reports to the
Board of Directors

**Project Due Date**:August 31, 2023

**Required Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in planning art programming, festivals, events or exhibitions is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Excellent organizational and research skills.
- Strong project management skills, able to prioritize tasks.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- knowledge of current safety and accessibility standards.
- Ability to read and understand architectural plans and construction documents; familiarity with construction best practices and fluency with related vocabulary.
- Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to problem solve.
- Working knowledge of construction and engineering practices.
- Experience managing staff and outside contractors.
- Knowledge of contemporary performing art methods and processes.
- PMP accreditation/ certification is an asset.
