The Government Grant Program Coordinator is responsible for securing funds through grants and funding opportunities.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and research government funding opportunities that align with the agency’s mission, vision, and values.
- Work closely with Finance staff and other departments including the Peel CAF to gather information and communicate proposal strategies to ensure funding program alignment for grant proposals.
- Prepare and submit funding proposals, including developing business cases, preparation of program planning and budgeting for the agency and the foundation.
- Support the Director of Finance in Managing alternative revenue streams.
- Program Development: Research through a variety of online sources to determine appropriate government funding program opportunities for the agency.
- Research and collect data to support funding proposals and to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Serves as a liaison to all funding providers by coordinating and following up on the progress of submitted proposals.
- Meet all deadlines and conditions for submissions, ensuring all required documents and information are provided.
- Responds to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.
- Maintains positive relationships with funding providers.
- In collaboration with the Director of Finance, develop an annual funding strategy.
- Maintains documentation of all funding, including deadlines, submissions, and awards.
- Maintains report on the progress of funding programs to ensure that objectives are met, and funding requirements are fulfilled.
- Research trends and changes in the grant-making market, including federal, provincial, and local government funding.
- Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
- Previous grant budget development and management.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Sound judgement and ability to handle matters of a confidential and / or sensitive nature.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills to initiate correspondence and liaise with other staff and external funding providers.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, structured, and persuasive proposals.
- Strong organizational skills to manage a varied workload, establish priorities and deal with a variety of competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, deal with multiple priorities and demonstrate sound judgment.
- Class G2/G license and access to a vehicle on a daily basis.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of a College Certificate / Diploma in English, Communications, Journalism, Business Management or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in grant writing and grant management in a nonprofit or government agency setting.
- 2 to 3 years of related experience in handling confidential and sensitive information

**HOURS OF WORK**: 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday
