**Job Summary**:
Provide system-wide direction, leadership, administration, coordination, and training for Library programming for customers of all ages.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Train staff at all levels on how to effectively and consistently deliver high-quality programs, through in-person and virtual training, program guides, resource development and shadowing/mentoring opportunities
- Design, develop, implement, evaluate, and analyze all Library programs, ensuring high quality system-wide programming
- Set, measure, and report on program objectives and outcomes
- Develop policies, standard operating procedures, processes, and best practices to manage reputational, health and safety, legal, and compliance risks for programming
- Chair program committees; distribute and supervise the work of committee members
- Coordinate large-scale Library events
- Conduct programming and outreach
- Select, hire, schedule, manage, supervise, and evaluate performers, vendors, exhibitors, guest speakers, and third-party service providers for programs and events
- Supervise staff and volunteers at programs and events
- Lead and/or participate on project teams
- Project, recommend, and control budgets and assets related to designated target areas; coordinate invoicing
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality of program information in programming system (eg ActiveNet), and work in partnership with the Social Engagement team for other avenues of promotion.
- Maintain program data collection tools; collect, enter, analyze, and report on data, and make system-wide decisions on programming based on statistics
- Represent the Library on city teams and make recommendations on behalf of the Library
- Responsible for fostering a positive and respectful workplace
- Other duties as assigned

**Please note: This is a bargaining unit position. CUPE Local 1989 members will be given consideration for this vacancy, as per the collective agreement, followed by all other employees.**

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in Library/Information Studies from an institution accredited by the American Library Association
- Knowledge of Mississauga Library and the City of Mississauga
- Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing programs and services
- Experience working with teens and young adults
- Ability to lead others
- Excellent customer service skills
- Effective interpersonal skills are essential in dealing with the staff and public
- Effective written and oral skills in English are essential
- Demonstrated experience in training staff
- Ability to effectively schedule staff, system resources and programs
- Demonstrated keyboarding skills
- Professional knowledge in the use of library electronic resources
- Computer skills are required in relevant software
- Ability to identify process improvements and efficiencies, and participate in lead implementation of changes
- Some lifting is involved
- Hours of work may require weekends and evenings

Hourly Rate/Salary: $81,900 - $94,703

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
