**Terminal Maintenance Assistant - 12 Month Limited Term**:
The Terminal Maintenance Assistant is responsible for monitoring and maintaining Seaspan berths and tie ups in the terminals. This is achieved by participating in regular inspections, coordinating on-going maintenance, and maintaining accurate and detailed records of inspections and maintenance.

**Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at Delta BC - 9350 Alaska Way**

**What you’ll do**
- Performs monitoring, inspection and maintenance of terminal berth and tie ups.
- Conducts repairs on terminal barges and marine facilities.
- Maintains general shop and site cleanliness including site and vessel clean-ups. Maintains stores and supplies in an organized manner to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assists with marine oil spills and barge salvage operations incidents.
- Operates Forklift or company truck as advised to assist and support site activities.
- Performs additional duties as required.

**What you’ll bring**
- Completion of Grade 12 education.
- Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) and Marine Emergency Duties Course (MED. A-3).
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience, including repair experience (Marine industry preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid BC driver’s license.
- Welding experience required.
- Forklift certification and man lift certification preferred.
- ROC-M (VHF) License preferred.
- Knowledge of the marine industry.
- Ability to quickly learn the marine transportation business and equipment.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbal and written.
- Ability to deal with customers professionally.
- Planning and organizational skills and hands-on problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize work and arrange schedule to ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment.
