**You in this role**:
The Project Officer, Funding, Capacity Development Grants reports to the Manager, Funding, Capacity Development Grants. The incumbent will support the Local Leadership for Climate Adaptation (LLCA) program of the Green Municipal Fund.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Provides assistance and guidance to applicants to improve educational and technical viability of proposals, increasing the possibility of funding by sharing relevant knowledge products and capacity building resources, and providing information of importance to finalizing funding agreements.
- Facilitates and supports the Peer Review process, including reviewing scores and comments, conducting additional research or consulting with applicants to clarify and/or elaborate content information.
- Responsible for the administration of funding agreements and contracts within the assigned portfolio, which includes consulting with recipients on contract terms, negotiating where required, reviewing and finalizing agreements and obtaining applicable signatures.
- Reviews contracts for adherence against mandatory requirements and applicable provincial legislation, ensuring the project reflects the pre-approved terms and conditions.
- Works in close collaboration with recipients and the LLCA Capacity Development team for the implementation and the timely and coordinated delivery of capacity development activities.
- Working with the LLCA Capacity Development team, supports and facilitates collaboration and the development of peer learning amongst LLCA capacity development grant recipients in identified priority areas.
- Monitors and provides support to capacity development grant projects by auditing training and attending events, providing continuous feedback to support project delivery.
- Reviews and recommends disbursement requests and content of progress and final reports based on contract requirements.
- Prepares and defends post-approval recommendations, which may include contract amendments, scope changes and closure memos.
- Reviews projects results, including capacity development impact reports to identify significant results or lessons learned which may be used as case studies, to guide the development of GMF-led capacity development activities by the LLCA Capacity Development team, or to support the development of knowledge/communication products. Relevant information is shared with cross-sectoral teams (Capacity Development, Communications and Marketing, Capacity and Sector Development, Impact Research and Performance).
- Participates as required in cross-functional team project work for LLCA, GMF, FCM Programs department or in FCM-wide initiatives.
