**You in this role**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Capacity Development and matrixed to Track 1 of the LLCA program, the Manager, Capacity Development, Climate Ready Plans & Processes leads the design, development, implementation and measured impact for information, peer learning and skills development for municipalities. This work raises awareness, accelerates transformation and enhances the impact of equitable and inclusive municipal action dedicated to Track 1 of the LLCA program’s activity areas. In a manner consistent with FCM’s values and employment philosophy, the Manager will oversee and guide a team of professionals delivering capacity building programming focused on supporting projects that plan for climate change (including a climate impact risk assessment) and integrate climate change adaptation into municipal systems and processes (including asset management). Key target audiences for this programming include municipal staff, elected officials, community partners, and Provincial and Territorial Associations. The Manager will be responsible for the general management and coordination of resources, activities and results focused primarily on the following:

- Capacity building activities and programming to support LLCA’s Track 1 activities, networks/communities of practices, awareness raising materials and activities, skills development, and training.
- Mobilization of lessons learned from LLCA funded projects broadly within the municipal sector and where possible, in partnership with Indigenous communities.
- Develop and maintain links with relevant external organizations and networks to support, enable and accelerate program delivery and impact.
- Contribute to the continual improvement of impact measurement and reporting.
- People management to foster leadership and professional development among all team members.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Guide and oversee development of LLCA awareness-raising, skills development and capacity building programming related to equity-informed climate adaptation. This includes in-depth peer learning activities to enhance uptake of lessons learned and good practice. Align work with successive rounds of Capacity Development Partner Grants (grant-funded partner-led capacity development) offerings and other tracks of the LLCA program.
- Represent LLCA and FCM in high priority seminars, conferences, events and meetings with municipal officials and other key stakeholders.
- Responsibility for the LLCA-Track 1 Capacity Development budget and ensure that activities are strategically designed and implemented to achieve desired results while fully allocating and disbursing the budget within the eight-year timeline.
- Report to the Senior Manager, Capacity Development, and carry out plans in alignment with the strategic direction, operational priorities, and overall vision of the Capacity Development Unit.
- Ensure alignment with strategic direction of the Project Director, Climate Ready Plans and Processes on matters related to equity-informed climate adaptation focused programming. Ensure the Project Director is engaged on emerging issues, relationships or potential partners.
