**Wage: $18.00/hour**

**Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 37.5 hours/week**

Reporting to Manager of Development the Volunteer Program Assistant works to support the Development Team in the day-to-day execution of Boyle Street Community Services Volunteer Program. They work directly with volunteers getting involved with the organization and supports the organization to maintain and deepen relationships with volunteers.

- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Recruiting and onboarding Program Support Volunteers
- Working across the Development Team and other departments to schedule volunteer interviews and supporting volunteer onboarding
- Working with the Development Team to ensure the Volunteer Management Database is up-to-date
- Supporting the Community Relationship Lead (Volunteers) to plan and execute volunteer engagement and appreciation events throughout the summer
- Coordinating Special Occasion Volunteer opportunities such as BBQs, 50/50's or other events
- Facilitating evaluation opportunities for volunteers to provide feedback on their experiences
- General duties as required to support the maintenance
- BSCS is more than a workplace. It is a community where everyone helps and contributes to the whole, and there is an expectation that all employees will take part in events (during the work week and occasionally during weekends and evenings). This includes fundraising campaigns, running community meals, medicine picking etc.

**Qualifications**
- Meet all Canada Summer Jobs Requirements*
- Police Check with the Vulnerable Sector and Child and Youth Intervention Check completed within the past six months
- Valid First Aid certificate or enrolled in a future course
- Experience with and knowledge of Indigenous culture and ceremonies is considered an asset
- 1-2 years working in the non-profit sector, human services, or volunteer coordination
- Experience working with vulnerable people and/or in the inner-city
- Education related to Volunteer Management, Social Work, or Human Services is considered an asset
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment with people from all walks of life
