Location: ON Fort Erie - CN050, NY Tonawanda - US041
**Position Snapshot**:
This role will have a hybrid work schedule (1-2 days per week in the Tonawanda, Fort Erie, or Toronto office), and will be supporting HR operations and strategy on the US side.
**A Day in the Life**:
- Respond to associate inquiries/complaints in a timely manner with empathy and sense of urgency.
- Coach managers and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity.
- Advise managers and facilitate timely resolution of all employee relations issues while maintaining an appropriate balance between company liability, employee and management advocacy.
- Conduct workplace investigations; mediate workplace disputes as required. Ensure requisite documentation for both informal inquiries and formal investigations and to input into applicable case management and tracking system. Prepare reports for management.
- Assess and recommend employee relations practices to reinforce a supportive employer-employee relationship while promoting the importance of accountability and business results
- Provide guidance on performance management and behavioral issues for all associates and managers.
- Support managers and associates in leave of absence process for all types of leaves, ensuring policies and processes implemented and adhered to promote a healthy return to work for associates.
- Facilitate onboarding (externals) / inboarding (internals) / offboarding programs summarize findings and prepare presentation.
- Provides guidance to management and employees on where and how to access HR support, tools and resources.
- Facilitate training on policies, human resources initiatives, leadership and compliance training in coordination with the CoEs for associates and managers, leadership.
- Liaise with managers to ensure compliance with employment-related legislation/law and human resources policies and procedures.
- Develop and grow knowledge of the evolving legal and regulatory environment and relevant legislation relating to employee relations work on a state/ provincial and national level.
**What you Bring to the Table**:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience
- PHR/SPHR or other HR certification preferred
- Solid knowledge of federal and provincial/state employment law and employee relations
- Ability to think beyond the HR function and contribute to the overall success of the organization
- Demonstrated relationship building skills with all levels of management
- Solid conflict resolution skills; excellent research, analytical and problem-solving capabilities to ensure problems, complaints, and inquiries are handled tactfully, effectively and promptly; ability to recommend win-win solutions
- Strong customer service orientation and service delivery skills; sets expectations, meets commitments, resolves issues quickly, demonstrates understanding and compassion towards others.
- Solid interpersonal skills including consensus and coalition-building
- Effective presentation, facilitation and communication (written and oral) skills
- Effective organizational and planning skills; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with general supervision
- Ability to work well in a team environment and develop collaborative relationships with colleagues across the Company.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data in an ethical and professional
- Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS
