Overview:
**Duties**:

- Management of the volunteers, including recruitment, interviewing, selection, and orientation of volunteers.
- Provide coaching to volunteers to expand their skills, empowering the volunteers to develop and grow within the W2S Volunteer Program, while taking into account their individual needs and aspirations.
- Collaborate and consult with various teams of volunteers to ensure best practices are promoted and implemented. This includes facilitating team building and providing specific training (at least one every 6 months).
- Obtain input from volunteers prior to making decisions that may affect the operation of their respective areas and the requirements being asked of them.
- Oversight of the clothing donation and storage room. This includes the Clothing Donation Acceptance Program and oversight of clothing quality, adjusting donation appointments and items accepted, as needed, when the boutique and storeroom are nearing capacity; and addressing safety issues for the intake staff and storeroom.
- At least every six months, responsible for facilitating seasonal clothing refreshes in line with W2S’s agreed upon process for season refreshed, and in consultation with the volunteers regarding appropriate dates for planned refresh.
- Oversee the boutique and storeroom operations by addressing any matters hampering the volunteers’ ability to perform their duties including safety issues; staffing issues; scheduling issues; or other issues that may arise.
- Develop and implement an ongoing plan for effective and open communication and feedback from the volunteers.
- Oversee and provide direction to the volunteers who ensure adequate stock of toiletries for the Care4You Program, in addition to storeroom products.
- Assistance with organization of, and attendance at all community events, including, but not limited, to our biannual clothing sale. This will include weekends.
- Other tasks as requested/required by the Program Manager and/or Board.

**Requirements**:

- At least two years experience as a volunteer.
- At least two years experience in a management or supervisory role, either professionally or as a volunteer.
- Experience in working and communicating effectively with diverse people, including volunteers, employees and clients.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, including excellent organizational and team coordination abilities.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Competent computer skills for Microsoft Office and data entry. CRM database knowledge is an asset.
- A combination of experience and education will be taken into consideration.
- Fluency in one or more languages other than English would be an asset.

This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our community while working with a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.

This is a contract position with the potential for extension.

Hours are negotiable with a maximum of 60 hours per month for six months.

A flexible schedule is to be determined in consultation with the successful applicant.

Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed.

Pay: $27.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
