Victoria, Canada Victoria Pride Society Full time

Working with the Victoria Pride Festival Director, the Volunteer Coordinator recruits, trains, and oversees volunteers. This includes volunteers helping with individual events and the ongoing work of the Victoria Pride Society (VPS).

**The Volunteer Coordinator will**:

- Define volunteer requirements and recruit volunteers.
- Develop a list of volunteer positions needed in partnership with event coordinators and committee chairs.
- Develop job descriptions, as needed.
- Ensure volunteers are sufficiently vetted and adhere to VPS values.
- Help to plan the volunteer appreciation party and communicate with all volunteers about the details of which.
- Communicate with volunteers throughout the year to inform them of new opportunities.

**Manage Volunteers**
- Oversee volunteer management platform.
- Organize volunteer orientations to ensure adherence to Victoria Pride’s commitment to inclusive and safe events.
- Respond to volunteer questions.
- Oversee volunteers during events.
- Handle any logistics and communications needed to support volunteers.
- Organize any other requirements of volunteers.

**Requested Work Experience for Applicants**:

- Experience in a leadership/team coordination role
- High level of written and verbal communication
- Experience in management of events and teams in fast-paced environments
- Proficient with Google Suite (drive, sheets, calendar etc)
- Experience with Better Impact or similar scheduling platform

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $5,000.00 per year

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Victoria, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
