**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Duties**:

- Systems Advisor, a key resource in the continued development and delivery of Dam Safety’s GIS
- strategy and data management systems.
- Provides oversight in the development and maintenance of the Dam Safety GIS Data
- Management Systems, a complex environment of GIS-based solutions with integration to Dam- Safety resources with information essential to support the Dam Safety Program.
- Specific Duties Include:
- Develops and maintains data management and GIS standards, policies, practices, and

procedures to govern implementation of the Dam Safety Program.- Serves as advisor and assists in development of Dam Safety GIS Data Management Systems

(policies, procedures, and processes) for emergency management, security and public safety.- Reviews complex 3DT Models to ensure alignment with GIS standards and Dam Safety

requirements. These require understanding of cartography, bathymetry, surfaces/sub-surfaces,
- computer assisted drafting and design (CADD), instrumentation practices, GIS, etc. and how
- these relate to Dam Safety policies, practices, and procedures.- Oversight of the curation and publishing of datasets for Dam Safety, including quality assurance

and quality control processes.- Develops and manages an audit program to demonstrate compliance and due diligence.
- Develops and maintains the roadmap for the Dam Safety GIS Data Management Systems to
- align with the Dam Safety Program.- Conducts research to support the Dam Safety data and technology roadmap.
- Makes operational and strategic recommendations to business unit regarding the Dam Safety

GIS Data Management Systems to support the Dam Safety Program and risk mitigation.- Makes recommendations related to Dam Safety GS Data Management Systems and

governance requirements for security and emergency management.- Develops and manages the dam safety surveillance performance assessment and reporting

requirements for compliance, work completion and oversight.- Provides oversight of contractors and service providers to support improvements and issue

resolution to the overall Dam Safety GIS Data Management Systems.- Provides project management for Dam Safety data and technology related initiatives.

**Qualifications**:

- An undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, geography, geomatics or similar

field involving Geographic Information Systems (GIS), data science, data management and
- information technology.- A minimum of 8 years experience working with highly complex GIS data sets in Esri ArcGIS Pro.
- Experience in any of the following areas considered an asset:

- Other working experience in GIS.
- BIM and Computer assisted drafting and design (CADD), such as experience with the Autodesk

product stack (e.g. Revit)- Project Management, such as a PMP certification
- Data automation
- Data analytics
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
- Ability to lead and facilitate in a complex matrix environment.
- Experience leading/facilitating in cross-disciplinary or cross-business work environments.
- Effective presentation skills, including the ability to effectively convey complex data management

issues to diverse audiences.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
