As a Pollution & Safety Advisor (Part-Time) at Intertek, you will be responsible for supervising ship loading and discharging operations at marine terminals, promoting safe and pollution-free operation, and ensuring effective communication between ships and shore personnel. This role requires a strong understanding of marine operations, safety procedures, and quality systems.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise ship loading and discharging operations to ensure compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor client ships to prevent pollution and minimize port time through improved operational efficiency.
- Establish effective communication channels between ships and shore personnel during supervised operations.
Requirements:
- Proven understanding of tanker operations and ability to work independently.
- Hold or have held the Canadian maritime document or equivalent certificate of competency permitting service on board ships of unlimited tonnage.
- Ability to write clear and concise reports and exercise diplomatic skills in interactions with terminal and ship personnel.
