**Position Summary**

This position reports to the Staff Accountant. Primary responsibilities include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank deposits, reconciliations, and other finance and office related duties.

This position is responsible for performing one or a complete and systematic set of transactions in a specific phase of accounting. (I.e. Accounts receivable, accounts payable) Duties include but are not limited to customer/contractor billing and record verification, preparing invoices and vouchers; maintaining files, posts ledger and general journal entries and/or balance accounts payable and accounts receivable records. Uses office-automated systems to input data, generate reports, conduct specialized research projects and respond to inquiries. Required to reconcile various accounts.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Maintains records according to generally accepted accounting principles including the recordation of general journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and reconciliation of bank statements.
- Participates in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.
- Administer and/or maintain one or a combination of generally accepted accounting systems. May systematize and examine financial reports, journal entries, maintain and reconcile ledger accounts. Provide basic accounting procedures; period and month end closing,
- Prepare journal entries and general ledger maintenance, supporting schedules for financial statements preparation.
- Assist in audit assessments.
- Basic Accounting procedures: (A/R, A/P, time billing, G/L, tax payments, intercompany and inventory control)
- Make available financial data for management team and contractors upon request.
- Assist with special Accounting projects from time to time.
- Conducts special billing investigations involving difficult problems. Makes determinations and resolves disputes.
- Responsible for accurately preparing and reconciling client accounts and contractor billing reports.

**Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)**
- Use of common bookkeeping software is required. Previous experience in accounting and Sage or related programs.
- Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits.
- Ability to organize and prioritize effectively.
- Attention to detail with exceptional level of accuracy.
- Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures.
- Demonstrated ability in dealing directly with vendors and Customers
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Minimal 2 years overall Finance or General Accounting experience. Should be in progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar fast paced work environment.
- Knowledge of accounting processes required.
- Strong organization, oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with mínimal supervision and administer multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word as well as experience with accounting software.
- Experience with general ledgers. Possess analytical skills with particular attention to detail.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, sit for long periods of time and work in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

**Salary**: $42,947.84-$58,578.75 per year
