Full-Time Position with Benefits

(after successfully completing 3 months of employment)

**Salary Range: $60,032 TO $68,036**

The **Economic Project Coordinator** is responsible for researching, coordinating, developing and implementing economic projects for the Anishinabek Nation and for seeking out innovative economic development opportunities. The Economic Project Coordinator will also be responsible for liaising with Anishinabek First Nations and other stakeholders.

**Qualifications**
- Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing & Communications, or a related program;
- Minimum two years’ experience in the coordination of community, economic, or business development projects;
- Experience working with First Nation in Economic Development, considered an asset;
- Thorough understanding of program research, development, and implementation techniques;
- Working knowledge of the Anishinabek Nation’s 39 member First Nations’ economic and community profiles;
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant computer systems, programs and software) and able to learn new technologies and tools; and
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and be insurable.

- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills; and
- Exhibit professional attitudes and behavior.

**Responsibilities**
- Implementing economic project work plans;
- Supporting the implementation of the Anishinabek Nation’s Economic Development Action Plan;
- Supporting the implementation of the Anishinabek Nation’s Economic Blueprint and its work plan;
- Conducting research, preparing background reports, technical summaries, briefing notes, and other related documents as required;
- Liaising with Anishinabek First Nations, government agencies, and business and industry leads;
- Working with relevant partners to identify, plan, support, and implement regional activities that will promote economic development;
- Communicating with Anishinabek First Nations, Chief and Councils, or public in a one-to-one setting;
- Ensuring all reporting is completed to external organizations as required;
- Participating in activities aimed at promoting First Nations economic development by partnering organizations such as Tribal Councils, Chiefs of Ontario, the Assembly of First Nations, and relevant government agencies;
- Researching and exploring opportunities that will facilitate revenue generation for the Anishinabek Nation by following a strict due diligence and risk management framework;
- Assisting in the coordination of the Chiefs Council on the Economy meetings;
- Supporting the examination and securing of financial resources that will provide necessary capacity to carry out activities related to economy building for the Anishinabek Nation;
- Providing management support of fiscal operations including budget development, tracking and monitoring of expenditures, and budget amendments as necessary; and
- Performing all other duties as assigned.
