**Full-time Quality Improvement & Education Manager**
**POSITION**: Full-time Quality Improvement & Education Manager (RPN)
**STATUS**: Full Time - Permanent.

This position requires a:
1. a practicing licensed Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
2. Provide proof of a current CNO Registration Number: entitled to practice with no restrictions/limitations.
3. Work Experience in a Canadian HealthCare setting

**Job Summary**:
The Quality Improvement & Education Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and leading the personnel and work process of the quality improvement program. This position will monitor and advise on the performance of the quality management system, produce data and report on performance, measuring against set standards.
In addition, they liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organization to ensure that the quality management system functions properly. Where appropriate, advise on implementing changes and provide training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards. The ultimate goal of the quality improvement process is to promote the resident’s quality of care and life in a skilled nursing facility, including individuality, safety, wellness, satisfaction, and dignity.
**RESPONSIBILITIES** (But not limited to):
- Responsible for coordinating quality improvement activities of staff and leading the Resident Quality Inspection (RQI) process as per FLTCA.
- In collaboration with the Leadership Team, develops the Annual Quality Improvement Plan for the Home
- Responsible for coordinating the staff development and Education program in the Home.
- Responsible for conducting and assigning mandatory education/ in-services as set out by the Ministry of Long-term Care and as per FLTCA and the Ministry of Labour.
- Responsible for conducting general orientation for all new employees, contracted employees and students in the Home.
- Responsible for monitoring students on clinical placement within the Home.
- Acts as an educational resource to managers and committees and assists them in identifying and responding to the learning needs of staff.
- Performs under mínimal supervision with accountability for specific goals/objectives. Works with the Manager, Informatics, QI and Education and Management Team to develop performance improvement targets for the quality service, and efficiency of the organization
- Working in consultation with management and interdisciplinary team members to develop processes that ensure data integrity, efficient data collection process, assessment completion and data utilization
- Utilizes the Ontario Health websites for resources to advance quality improvement activities. Ensures that all quality and risk management-related activities are reviewed, discussed and follow-up actions identified as necessary, e.g., QIA indicators and exceptions, audits, inspections etc.
- Identifies and maintains knowledge of best practices nationally, regionally and within the home itself
- Responsible for assisting with accreditation for all quality and safety standards in CARF.
- Assists the Corporate Manager, Informatics, QI and Education by contributing to the annual report by completing areas that relate to risk and quality
- Devising and establishing the Home’s quality procedures, standards and specifications
- Setting up standards and maintaining controls, quality, and documentation procedures
- Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports
- Making suggestions for changes and improvements and providing education on how to implement them
- Provides leadership for implementing changes targeted at systems improvement.

**QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS**:
- COVID Vaccinated (2 Doses plus Booster)
- Current registration as an RPN in good standing with the College of Nurses is required
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with adult education strategies/facilitation
- Supervisory experience as Quality Improvement & Education Manager preferred
- Superb written and oral communication skills with particular emphasis on presentation skills
- Excellent computer skills (e.g., Word processing, Excel) and strong problem-solving abilities with time management
- Analytical reasoning, interpretation, and evaluation of complex information while identifying data trends
- Team development and facilitation techniques applied to quality improvement to achieve the highest potential
