**Starting Salary**:$47,540 - $54,190, per year based on experience. Salary Range Max $61,810 [2023 Rates]

**The Role**

Front-line roles have responsibility for direct program support and direct service delivery. These roles directly deliver the services of various Branch programs to communities across Ontario. They are responsible for maintaining standards of service delivery that align with established processes and guidelines, and are responsible for maintaining organized information on assigned projects and programs. They are required make independent decisions that reflect good judgement, maturity and ethical behaviour while maintaining appropriate boundaries.

**Duties include, but are not limited to**:

- Design and deliver culturally relevant curriculum and culturally-oriented programming and content
- Day-to-day administration of the River Program classroom and provide student support
- Liaison with the District School Board and the DSB teacher related to the Kingston River Program
- Coordination of expenditures in line with budget requirements
- Reporting and report completion as required. This includes maintaining statistics
- Community Liaison and outreach related to the Kingston River Program
- Incorporate Indigenous culture, teachings and language into the Ontario curriculum
- Assist the design of integrated 4-credit package each semester
- Administer the off-site school location, including keeping organized budget records, and retaining all receipts and invoices for reimbursement in a timely fashion; this includes credit card reconciliation
- Provide guidance and support for Indigenous students in the program to try to overcome the barriers of gaining their Ontario Secondary School Diploma issues including mental health issues, high risk behaviours and Special Education needs, poverty, and addictions
- Manage behavioural issues and crisis intervention
- Work as a team member with the Limestone District School Board, and with the support of the direct supervisor, to consult, intake, review and make decisions regarding students and how best to meet their needs
- Contribute to the development of the MOU in partnership with the Limestone District School Board
- Establish network of Indigenous Elders and community members to regularly assist in providing Indigenous teachings and experiences for students
- Establish working relationship with many organizations in Kingston and the surrounding area to best meet the needs of each Indigenous student.
- Represent the River Program in the Kingston community as appropriate and be involved in community activities to further the awareness of and represent the River Program
- Some travel may be required
- Other reasonable duties as may be assigned

**Qualifications**
- Strong desire to act in the service of the Métis Citizens, to advance and uphold Métis rights and culture
- Completion of post-secondary education in a related field, such as a Teaching Certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A high degree of technology literacy and proficiency in standard office equipment
- Advanced communications skills
- Organization skills and time/priority-management
- Highly detail-oriented
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, demonstrate good judgement, and make decisions independently within set processes and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work alone/independently with mínimal supervision
- Program coordination or Administrative experience

Preferred
- Knowledge of indigenous (preferably Métis) culture, issues, and current activities
- Registration with a provincial governing body (depending on position)
- One year or more experience in a similar/comparable role
- Experience dealing with confidential information
- Experience working in coordinating and delivering community-based programs or projects
