**Job Position**:
Working in collaboration with department heads, the **Safety Manager **will be responsible for monitoring the compliance of procedures required to ensure safe operational practices of the activities of Flight Operations, Maintenance and Ground Operations.
This position is also responsible for all facets of the company Safety Management System, Risk Assessment, Emergency Planning, Occupational Health & Safety, WHMIS and TDGC.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Be responsible for the Safety Management System (SMS) program and for overall safety at all Company facilities. Provide direction to safety leads at various facilities.
- Establishes and maintains a reporting system to ensure the timely collection of information related to hazards, incidents and accidents that may adversely affect safety.
- Identifies hazards and carries out risk management analyses of those hazards.
- Investigates, analyzes, and identifies the cause or probable cause of all hazards, incidents and accidents identified under the safety management system.
- Establishes and maintains a safety data system, either by electronic or by other means, to monitor and analyze trends in hazards, incidents and accidents.
- Monitors and evaluates the results of corrective actions with respect to hazards, incidents and accidents.
- Determines the adequacy of the training requirements for the Operations Manager, the Director of Maintenance, the Regional Maintenance Supervisor, and other personnel under the safety management system.
- Liaises with all levels of employees, management, and external stakeholders as necessary to facilitate open collaboration and discussion related to corporate safety investigations.
- Manages the communication of safety initiatives to external stakeholders.
- Conduct "SMS Induction" for new employees.
- Responsible for the Occupational Health & Safety Program for the Company.
- Implement safety, risk management, emergency response and continuous improvement programs.
- Be responsible for the role of Emergency Operations Coordinator and ensure the company Emergency Response plan is always fully up to date and completely functional so company.
**Qualifications/Requirements**:
- Previous experience managing a Health and Safety program in aviation or a related sector.
- Post-secondary degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline considered an asset**.**:
- Working knowledge of federal safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to travel to MAG Aerospace’s various bases located within Canada.
