Rorabeck Sowerby Theriault LLP is looking for a bilingual legal administrative assistant to join our dynamic and inclusive team. We are a busy six lawyer firm practicing primarily family law. We prioritize work-life balance and there is no requirement to work beyond the regular workday.

We are a busy office, but we also offer many fringe benefits such as:

This is a permanent, full-time position that we would like to fill immediately. However, finding the right person is more important than the start date and we can be flexible in that regard. The hours of work are from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm.

We are looking for someone with some office experience, preferably in a legal environment, but it is not essential. A diploma in Office Administration, Law Clerk or Legal Assistant is an asset, but we will also consider a combination of other skills, education and experience.

The salary will depend on experience and is negotiable, but the minimum pay for this position is $20.00 per hour.

Your roles and responsibilities would include:

- Greeting individuals as they arrive, which includes clients, lawyers, couriers, etc., taking information and providing appropriate direction.
- Handling new client intakes.
- Managing the lawyers’ work schedules.
- Accepting payments from clients and providing receipts.
- Daily use of Outlook, Microsoft Word and Soluno.
- Use of office equipment, including fax machine, photocopier, scanner, binding machine.
- Filing legal documents into the appropriate client folders.
- Operating a 5-line telephone switchboard to answer, screen and forward calls, providing information and taking messages.
- Other tasks as assigned.

- Law Clerk/Legal Assistant Diploma (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of the Family Law Rules (and/or Rules of Civil Procedure)

- Experience in the areas of real estate and/or wills & estates.

Nous sommes un cabinet de six avocates pratiquant principalement le droit de la famille. Nous accordons la priorité à l’équilibre travail/vie personnelle et il n’est pas nécessaire de travailler au-delà de la journée de travail normale.

Notre bureau est occupé mais nous offrons également de nombreux avantages sociaux, tel que:

Il s’agit d’un poste permanent à temps plein que nous aimerions pourvoir immédiatement. Cependant, trouver la bonne personne est plus important et nous pouvons être flexibles quant à la date de commencement. Les heures de travail sont du lundi au vendredi, de 9 h 00 à 17 h 00.

Nous recherchons quelqu’un qui a de l’expérience travaillant dans un bureau et, de préférence, dans un cabinet juridique, mais ce n’est pas essentiel. Un diplôme en Administration de bureau, Clerc juridique ou Adjointe juridique est un atout, mais nous envisagerons également une combinaison d’autres compétences, d’éducation et d’expérience de travail.

Nous cherchons également quelqu’un qui peut communiquer en français pour communiquer avec nos clients francophones par téléphone et envoyer des courriels brefs. Nous allons prioriser les postulants qui peuvent communiquer en français, alors nous vous demandons d’indiquer clairement votre niveau de français dans votre demande d’emploi.

Le salaire dépendra de l’expérience et est négociable, mais le salaire minimum pour ce poste est de 20,00 $ de l’heure.

Nous sommes situés à Kingston et nous nous attendons à ce que nos employés travaillent principalement au bureau. Les membres du personnel ont la possibilité de travailler parfois à domicile en fonction des besoins du bureau.
