The role interacts with and supports various departments, including Accounting, Sales, Transportation and Procurement.

**Position Overview**

The Accounting Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing accounting, administrative, and clerical support at The Lamb Company in order to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate accounting operations. The Accounting Administrative Assistant’s primary responsibilities are to match, validate and post accounting documents, enter orders, manage open purchase orders and transmit data via EDI, and process accounts payable. Acts as a floater to cover other Admin roles in the Accounting department.

**Ma**jor Responsibilities**
- Sorts, organizes, matches supporting documents (Purchase Orders, Weigh Bills, Freight), and verifies accuracy prior to posting.
- Enters orders and sales related data in inventory management system (Microsoft / Great Plains Dynamics).
- Manages open purchase orders and accurately transmits via EDI (SPS, iTrade) and runs EDI reports.
- Identifies and resolves discrepancies found with Sales, or Procurement teams.
- Provides customer support from point of purchase to delivery.
- Performs Accounts Payable data entry, batch posting and cheque runs.
- Provides other administrative and clerical support where required.

**Key Success Measures**
- Efficient and timely order entry, data entry, customer and sales support, and accounts payable processing.
- Accurate and timely administration of documentation, filing and retrieval.

**Qualifications & Considerations for the Position**
- College or high school diploma.
- Two years’ data entry experience with attention to detail and accuracy, and one year experience processing payables.
- Professional friendly demeanor, good oral and written communication skills; able to develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and coworkers.
- Strong math and reasoning skills for data/order entry, keyboarding 55 wpm.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, resolve problems, and keep others informed of status updates.
- Proficient in computer software, such as inventory / traceability software, manufacturing software (MS/GP Dynamics) and Microsoft Office (Excel).
- Team player with high integrity, values and a positive attitude.
- Fluent in English.
- Organized self-starter with proven ability to co-ordinate and effectively follow up on multiple projects and assignments and meet all deadlines.
- Excellent ability to plan, organize and prioritize in a high volume, fast paced work environment.

Important Information:

- Work Location: Five days per week, 8 hours per day, West-end Toronto, near the public transportation line.
