**Background**

ACSA is a nonprofit, multi-service agency addressing needs and empowering children, youth, newcomers, homeless, and otherwise underserved communities. Our core programs include housing and outreach programs, food security programs, newcomer services, youth outreach and therapy programs, child and family programs, early years’ programs, computer access programs, and community engagement.

**Summary of Job Functions**

Reporting to the Manager, Youth and Bay Mills Hub, the coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day to day operation of the space, including scheduling and supervision of assigned staff, planning, and implementing responsive programming, partnership development, as well as community outreach and engagement.

**Duties include**:

- Provide day to day support to the Bay Mills hub including performing administrative functions for space (i.e., answering phones, information, and referral, etc.), ensuring coverage and dealing with crises, liaising with operations manager, partners, etc.
- Supervise relevant staff and students operating out of the space
- Develop and implement programming that is responsive to the needs and diversity of community (i.e. children, youth, seniors, food security, etc.)
- Develop and strengthen partnerships that are responsive to the needs and priorities of community
- Provide crisis management and mediation support with community, parents/guardians, etc.
- Support resident/youth engagement within the Bay Mills space including information and referral, supporting resident led initiatives, etc.
- Implement any necessary community-based outreach and engagement.
- Liaison and build positive relationships with Toronto Community Housing and other partners on various aspects of the work.
- Plan and manage the budget of related programs/projects.
- Provide written and oral reports to stakeholders and funding bodies.
- Represent ACSA on appropriate networks, workgroups, and other relevant meetings.
- Participate as a team member on the delivery of other activities in the Agency.
- Protect own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately; follow all guidelines for employees and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Perform the responsibilities of the position within the legislative and regulatory standards set out in the applicable Acts and consistent with the policies of ACSA.

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, experience in Bay Mills is a strong asset.
- Degree/certificate in Social Work, child and youth development or related field (i.e., Human Services, Health, or Education)
- Excellent and demonstrated leadership skills and initiative.
- Demonstrated strong organizational, project planning and time management skills.
- Experience working with diverse communities, particularly youth, and sensitivity to cultural issues; commitment to the value of diversity and inclusiveness.
- Excellent and demonstrated facilitation skills.
- Strong communication skills: excellent writer, active listener and comfortable public speaker
- Knowledge of program planning, implementation, and evaluation strategies
- Strong conflict mediation skills
- Experience working with numerous stakeholders and developing long term partnerships.
