Operations Coordinator Student - Edmonton, AB

What You’ll Be Working On

Our internships and Co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. We’ll help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment.

We are seeking a student to join us for a 4- month co-op position starting in September 2023. This position will be based out of Edmonton, AB.

**Responsibilities**:
Assist in coordinating project activities- Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure seamless project execution.- Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.- Assist in tracking project progress and identifying potential risks or delays.

Provide administrative support- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, and reports.- Organize and maintain project files and records.- Assist in creating and updating project schedules.

Liaise with stakeholders- Communicate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to coordinate project logistics.- Assist in organizing meetings and site visits.- Help maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.

Support operational efficiency- Assist in resource planning and allocation.- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.- Help monitor project costs and expenses.

Contribute to process improvement- Identify opportunities to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.- Propose and implement process improvements as directed.

Who We Need On Our Team- You are currently enrolled in a Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration diploma or equivalent program- You will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher- Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships- Exemplify the Ideal Team Player - Hungry, Humble, Smart- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills- Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude- Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries- If you are selected for a role with client specific requirements, you may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug testing.We Put Safety First
