**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, Asset Management, this position will contribute to asset management obligations and initiatives within the Public Works department. The successful intern will assist with managing and implementing asset management data and information requirements for capital programming, asset lifecycle modelling, asset risk assessments and maintaining asset risk registers, technical level of service and key performance measures tracking and reporting. This opportunity is suited for an individual passionate for critical thinking towards innovative solutions and appreciates analytical work involving coordination and facilitation activities with a broad range of stakeholders.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Assist Asset Management staff with capital budget program planning support related to development and state of good repair (SOGR) capital program for municipal Water, Wastewater, Roads, Storm and Solid Waste Management projects.
- Engage and liaise with Capital Project Managers to obtain project status updates, present progress reports and trends, including and not limited to gap analysis and process improvement initiatives.
- Be a part of an exciting and evolving asset management program and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to manage information and report PW KPIs effectively and efficiently.
- Work as part of a team and be a key resource to collaborate and onboard new students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Diploma or degree in the field of Engineering, Applied Science, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Effective problem-solving skills to identify and resolve a variety of dynamic issues, particularly during biannual variance reporting and budget programming process.
- Creative dispute resolution skills to address and resolve interdepartmental, cross-divisional, cross departmental competing stakeholder issues.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage changing priorities and multi-tasking.

**Preferred**
- Asset Management certification or related coursework/ experience.
- Good understanding of Municipal Public Works infrastructure, specifically water and wastewater systems, solid waste and transportation.
- Proficiency with information systems for financial reporting and asset management.
