Toronto, Canada Baby Point Gates BIA Full time

The Baby Point Gates BIA is seeking a part-time Coordinator. The role is 1 day (8 hours) per week, with the option for additional hours relating to special projects. Reporting to the Board of Management, the Coordinator will make use of their expertise and knowledge of both public and private sectors to assist the Board in fulfilling the BIA’s goals.

**Duties**:

- Organize BIA festivals, including managing vendors, booking talent, acquiring permits, ensuring proper compliance, creating marketing content and generating engagement.
- Manage the BIA’s digital presence, including blog posts, social media, directory listings and website updates.
- Organize and attend monthly board meetings.
- Follow through on decisions made at Board meetings (working with vendors, researching topics, writing copy or correspondence).
- Maintain a presence, in person and otherwise within the community. This includes attending community meetings, engaging with merchants, cultivating volunteers and board members.
- Organize new events and initiatives as they arise. The Coordinator will report directly to our Chair, but would also be required to work directly with other members of the executive and committee chairs.

Qualifications:

- BA/Associates Degree or equivalent work experience in business, planning, communications or economics
- Exceptional inter-personal skills and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed and the ability to work independently
- Strong organization and event planning skills
- BIA experience is an asset

Established in 2010, Baby Point Gates BIA takes its name from the historic stone gates located at the intersection of Jane and Annette streets. The launching of the BIA has inspired a range of ideas by local merchants to strengthen and enliven these two retail streets. Work currently focuses on marketing, branding and streetscaping the area. Baby Point Gates BIA is well-served by public transit and is intersected by two major roads, which are surrounded by attractive, well-established neighbourhoods.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 - 10 per week
