**Work Arrangement**: Hybrid, Flexible Hours, Possible Contract Extension After 3 Months

**About Parkdale Village Business Improvement (PVBIA)**:
**Job Duties**:
As the Marketing & Events Coordinator, you will play a central role in the planning, execution, and overall co-ordination of the Parkdale Village BIA's marketing and events portfolio. We're seeking a proactive individual with a passion for social media marketing, event management, and creative marketing campaigns. Key responsibilities include:
**Marketing**:

- Social Media Marketing: Craft and execute impactful campaigns across various platforms, with a special focus on creation of a new TikTok account.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with local businesses to curate content and foster cross-promotions. Partner with community organizations and artists to showcase Parkdale's vibrancy.
- Community Engagement: Skillfully manage and monitor online platforms, capturing the area's vibrant nightlife through evening visuals and enhancing community engagement through timely response and innovative activities like giveaways, contests, etc.

**Events**:

- Event Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to define event goals, craft proposals, budgets, and timelines. Select venues, catering, and vendors, handling event logistics.
- Budget Management: Oversee event budgets, negotiate vendor contracts, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Marketing and Promotion: Strategically promote events through various channels, from social media to traditional advertising. Design and distribute event materials.
- Logistics and Operations: Oversee all event aspects, ensuring setup, staffing, and breakdown run smoothly. Manage equipment, registration, and guest lists.
- Coordination and Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and participants. Ensure smooth event schedules, address inquiries, and troubleshoot issues.

**General**:

- Planning: Manage and refresh annual marketing and event calendars.
- Sponsorships: Identify and secure sponsorships and partnerships, nurturing strong relationships.
- Evaluation & Reporting: Gather feedback, assess success, prepare, and present reports.
- Board & Subcommittee Engagement: Attend monthly meetings, provide input, and assist in co-ordinating "Marketing & Events" subcommittee meetings.

**Key Objectives for the Marketing & Events Coordinator**:

- Increase visitor traffic and community engagement.
- Rebrand the community as a vibrant, diverse, and eclectic commercial district.
- Expand social media presence for broader reach.
- Organize frequent events to sustain the vibrant and diverse atmosphere of the BIA.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven event planning and coordination, along with experience in social media marketing.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Skilled in event management and graphic design software like Canva and Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility to work under pressure and during irregular hours.
- Superior planning, strategic thinking, creativity, and project management abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Preference will be given to local Parkdale residents with community experience.
