**Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President of Academic and Indigenous Programs (AVPAIP), the Indigenous Projects Officer will be responsible for:

- Planning and operating strategic projects that advance Indigenous, equity, diversity, and inclusion (IEDI);
- Providing exceptional project management to advance our actions and efforts to embed IEDI at Laurentian University;
- leading priority projects and taking on roles that are critical to the department’s success and growth.
- Providing oversight to specific projects assigned by the AVPAIP ensuring that project deliverables are completed as planned on time and on budget;
- Responsible for seeking and oversight of grant and research funding proposals and reporting to the AVPAIP;
- Project examples include supporting and accessing research grants, obtaining funding for Indigenous infrastructure, overseeing projects such as Indigenous Education Week and supporting special events throughout the year;
- Other duties as required by the AVPAIP.

**Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree four (4) years in a relevant discipline;
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of relevant administrative or project management experience in the post-secondary sector or a related setting;
- Proof of Indigenous Identity ( status card and letter of affiliation with a First Nation, Metis or Inuit community);
- Excellent understanding of the post-secondary education sector and intersection with Indigenous( First Nations, Métis and Inuit) communities;
- Experience with grant writing and reporting;
- Experience advancing equity projects within a post-secondary environment or similar complex organization;
**Hours of Work**

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.

**Fonctions**:
Sous la direction du vice-recteur associé à l’enseignement et aux programmes autochtones (VRAEPA), la personne retenue exécutera ce qui suit:

- Planifier et gérer des initiatives stratégiques propres à promouvoir l’équité, la diversité et l’inclusion des Autochtones (EDIA);
- Gérer des projets exceptionnels pour faire avancer nos actions et efforts afin d’intégrer l’EDIA à l’Université Laurentienne;
- Diriger des projets prioritaires et assumer des fonctions essentielles pour la réussite et la croissance du bureau;
- Superviser des initiatives particulières que le VRAEPA lui confie en veillant que les résultats soient obtenus en respectant les échéances et le budget;
- Solliciter et superviser des propositions et des rapports de subventions et de financement de la recherche pour les programmes autochtones;
- Les exemples d’initiatives incluent entre autres : le soutien et l'accès aux subventions de recherche, l'obtention de fonds pour l’infrastructure autochtone, la supervision d’initiatives comme la Semaine de l'éducation autochtone et le soutien à des événements spéciaux tout au long de l'année;
- Exécuter toutes autres tâches que le VRAEPA lui confie.

**Qualifications**
- Grade de premier cycle (programme de quatre ans) dans une discipline pertinente;
- De trois à cinq ans d’expérience dans la gestion administrative ou de projets dans le secteur postsecondaire ou un cadre connexe;
- Preuve d'identité autochtone (carte de statut et lettre d'affiliation à une communauté des Premières nations, des Métis ou des Inuits);
- Excellente compréhension du secteur de l’éducation postsecondaire et des interactions avec les communautés autochtones (Première nations, Métis et Inuits);
- Expérience dans la rédaction de demandes de subventions et de rapports;
- Expérience dans l’exécution d’initiatives en matière d’équité dans un environnement postsecondaire ou un organisme complexe semblable;
- Connaissances prouvées des principes de l’EDIA, des tendances, des méthodes de recherche, de l’analyse statistique et de la production de rapports;
- Vastes connaissances des considérations communautaires de l’EDIA et solide engagement envers l’antiracisme, l’équité, la diversité, l’inclusion, l’appartenance et la justice;
- Expérience prouvée en gestion de projets, y compris dans tous les aspects de l’élaboration de processus, d’exécution et d’achèvement;
- Expertise en coordination et soutien de comités et de groupes de travail;
- Expérience dans la coordination et l’animation de réunions, y compris des réunions avec des parties prenantes afin de faciliter les processus d’approbation;
- Expérience de travail avec des données administratives, de recherche et sensibles, y compris dans la collecte, la synthèse, l’interprétation et l’examen de l’information;
