We have an opportunity for you to join our team. Reporting to the Program Lead of Stakeholder & Client Relations, you will develop and lead an integrated and flexible approach to product and service line management to optimize revenue, and positioning in the marketplace.

- Develop and implement marketing and sales plans to increase revenue for Waste Services
- Recommend and develop customer service programs that will define pricing, product enhancements, sales and distribution strategies, and customer relations programs
- Assess customer needs through ongoing communication, research, and feedback systems, one-on-one meetings, and various analytics
- Manage the sales process for all available products and services - initial contact and rapport building, needs discovery, offer a solution, handle objections and close the sale
- Plan and organize promotional events and produce informational products and resources for customers, such as online service programs, trade show displays, and product branding
- Conduct needs assessments - collect, track, interpret and analyze customer feedback and coordinate with all internal customer-facing groups and operational teams
- Consult with management and external departments to suggest improvements based on gathered insights, and to improve the customer experience
- Prepare a variety of reports, write plans and develop strategies to achieve business objectives, analyze customer service processes, conduct market research, and develop marketing and customer service programs
- Analyze and evaluate market and product information, as well as resource requirements to determine compatibility with department/corporate goals and objectives
- Conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape and explore new beneficial reuses for waste streams and products to work towards our zero waste goal as a City
- Work with program areas to track performance measures, recommending changes to measures
- Analyze and interpret internal, environmental and marketplace data and trends to identify potential opportunities and to help understand impacts within the operational environment
- Liaise with other departments, industry stakeholders, community, promotion agencies, industry trade associations and others to gather data related to market and industry trends
- Collaborate regularly with partners, identify and evaluate partnership opportunities and effectiveness on an ongoing basis
- Other related duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- A Degree (or higher, or equivalent) in Business, Commerce, Administration/Management or a related field with major coursework in marketing
- 3 years of marketing, sales, client relations and/or business development experience; experience in a waste and/or municipal environment is an asset
- Knowledge of marketing, client relations and business development concepts and philosophies, accepted techniques and principles of product and service evaluation, and of the methodologies involved in market research and analysis
- Sound research skills, and good understanding of research design and results interpretation
- Goal-focused, ability to meet targets and demonstrate the ability to pursue a long-term strategic vision whilst remaining flexible to respond tactically to changing demands and/or unexpected opportunities
- Some knowledge of market trends in the waste management industry
- Creative thinking and analytical skills to interpret and analyze data, and identify interrelated factors pertaining to product and service planning and market conditions
- Self-starter, proactive and able to succeed with limited supervision
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively express ideas verbally and in writing
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to facilitate collaboration among diverse groups of people
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent). Must arrange own transportation to be reimbursed in accordance with City of Edmonton policy. This may require business auto insurance
