Advisor, Employee Relations

**How does the role impact the organization?**

The Advisor, Employee Relations will utilize their extensive experience to contribute to the development and implementation of effective HR strategies, policies, and solutions related to employee relations. As a key collaborator to and partner of the HR Business Partner team, the Advisor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effectiveness of RJL’s Employee Relations service delivery and environment, all while providing significant value to the business.

**What will your role be responsible for?**
- Provides sound and timely advice, coaching, and support to managers, HRBPs and employees on workplace and ER matters.
- Works closely with the HR Business Partner Team to proactively support relation initiatives aligned with business goals.
- Provides sound advice and effective support and guidance on employment issues.
- Investigates employment issues and human rights complaints; makes recommendations on appropriate responses and/or resolutions.
- Educates management on performance management, progressive discipline and other related ER matters pursuant to administrative procedures and processes.
- Coordinates the administration of RJL’s employee discipline and performance management.
- Contributes to the development, implementation, review, and adherence to related HR and ER policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the coordination, management and training and up-to-date tracking of ER cases and files.

**R**ole Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration or a related field of study
- A minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience managing ER cases, including performance management, workplace accommodation, disability management, etc.
- Knowledge of employee relations and exposure to employment legislation.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative and practical solutions.

**Capabilities that would be considered an asset**:

- Bilingual French and English
- Investigation training
- Experience in the financial service industry
- Broader experiences and interest in HR
