What You’ll Be Doing
CIBC’s Global Employee and Labour Relations, Policies and Programs team is seeking a summer student for 2024. Opportunities exist in Global Policies & Programs and Employee Relations team. The HR, Coordinator, Global Policies and Programs co-op will be supporting various programs in global mobility, employee policies and programs which supports CIBC’s commitment to create a positive employee experience. The Employee & Labour Relations Specialist Co-op will be supporting and effectively manage high risk and complex human resources issue which contribute to enhanced organizational performance.

Important Information
- You must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full-time studies to be eligible. However, you do not need to be in a registered Co-Op program to be considered for a role.

How You’ll Succeed
- Strong initiative and self-managing skills - Reviewing and responding to pre-litigation employment matters to maximize opportunity for effective & timely resolution and risk mitigation, through supporting and preparing documentation for litigation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Supporting managers and employees in successful resolution of workplace issues and conflicts.
- Confidentiality - Managing complex, high risk and sensitive workplace issues and conflicts, including human rights and harassment or other egregious workplace conduct, terminations, disability leave matters and corporate security investigations.

Previous and/or relevant experience in Human Resources an asset
