**Job Overview**
The International Student Support Officer serves as a certified Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor (RISIA or RCIC), providing expert immigration advice to international students in alignment with federal immigration guidelines. This role is pivotal in assisting students with understanding and adhering to immigration regulations to maintain their legal status while studying and/or working in Canada. Additionally, the Officer guides students through the transition from student to work permits, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and supporting a smooth transition into the Canadian workforce.

**Duties**
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of IBU academic programs and student services, including international admission requirements and academic policies.
- Conduct workshops around immigration developments and updates.
- Advise & support students and alumni with Study permit extensions and guidance for Post Graduate Work Permit.
- Develop and foster partnerships with student service departments, academic departments, and student groups to develop and implement policies, programs, and services to enhance students’ personal, social, and intellectual development and assist international students to achieve success.
- Active engagement and support to various departments especially during registration, orientation & graduation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and changes to IRPA and IRPR as it pertains to the University and its regulatory policies to ensure competency to perform the duty of a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 3+ years of experience in immigration advising preferably with students at the post-secondary.
- Licensed Regulated International Immigration Advisor (RISIA) or Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) is required.
- A positive attitude and student-focused approach.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to effectively.
- Communicate and interact with all individuals with integrity, empathy and sincerity.
- Superior organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to manage stress and thrive in often demanding situations.
- Proven self-starter and problem solver.
- Must be deadline-driven and goal-oriented.
- Ability to act with tact, good judgment, and discretion.
- Display professional work ethic and exemplary behaviour while respecting provincial and federal regulations.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
