**The Opportunity**:
**Key Tasks**:

- Coordinate inspections and summarize, assemble and prioritize key findings from investigations and inspections to inform potential project ideas
- Develop project needs analyses, business cases and justifications, based on internal risk reviews and 3rd-party reports
- Perform design reviews with internal and external stakeholders and consultants. Review drawings and provide technical support
- Develop project budgets and schedules
- Develop consulting and construction contracts to facilitate the efficient execution of project work
- Supervise field work being performed by contractors and consultants
- Review the engineering tasks and initiate the necessary corrective actions
- Monitor and control project budgets, schedules, and documentation

**Required Skills and Knowledge**:

- Demonstrated experience with planning and organization. Able to not only execute projects in scope but present ideas in a proactive manner when issues arise
- Experience in supervision and coordination of external engineers and with the formal design process
- Waterfront experience an asset in conjunction with experience with conveyers, motors, gear boxes - design and technical working knowledge
- Assertive personality with an aptitude for technical support
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to take the lead and make ‘first steps’ Required Experience, Education, and Designations
- Engineering Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, or Technologist Diploma
- Experience in mechanical and/or civil/structural design
- Experience in construction projects (planning and executing)
