Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring an Assistant Category Development Manager on a temporary full-time (for approximately 14 months) basis at our Home Office in Saskatoon, SK.

**Who we are**:
**What you’ll do**:
You will be responsible for the management of the Food Department’s center store HBC/OTC/HABS category development within the Food stores.
- You will oversee the specific teams responsible for HBC/OTC/HABS product assortment, shelf management strategies, vendor support and marketing item selection.
- You will work closely with Category Development Manager to ensure alignment with established marketing strategies.
- You will also work in collaboration with the Store Brands Manager and Retail Pricing Manager to ensure defined category strategies are executed regarding store brand product development and retail pricing execution.
- You will monitor employee performance and engage the team members in category management processes.
- Following Centre Store processes, you will focus team members on key performance activities and development of Category Management practices.
- You will continually work to exude an efficient, effective, professional, and team-oriented department through coaching, mentoring and employee development. This will include assisting the Category Development Manager with talent identification, acquisition, training, and development.
- You will assist with the processes of yearly business plans and budget sales and profitability for FCL and Retail Sales levels. You will work with the Category Development Manager to ensure these objectives are monitored throughout the year and achieved for teams of responsibility.
- You will provide leadership in the execution of programs, market direction, and category strategies to grow sales and profitability.
- You will continually investigate opportunities to improve internal processes, and under direction from Category Development Manager execute on those opportunities.
- In conjunction with the Category Development Manager, communicate Category Strategy initiatives to the region food marketing teams. In collaboration with the Centre Store Operations team, ensure a high level of communication of category development initiatives to retail food stores.

- You have a degree in Business or Marketing.
- You have a minimum of 5-7 years of related progressively responsible experience in the retail/wholesale food industry, including category management experience. (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
