**Focus**

The Category Support/Logistics Coordinator will primarily be responsible to support the management of the greenhouse lettuce category and full cycle logistics.

**Key Accountabilities**:
Category Support
- Responsible in supporting the management of the Greenhouse Lettuce Category
- Responsible in support of selling of full product assortment on national level to retail and foodservice customers
- Create, input and revise purchase orders and communicate with customers on confirmation of orders
- Customer sample and product donation management
- Sales administration for Accounts Receivables
- Monitor inventory and order staging with carrier arrival to facilities
- Communicate with customers to drive sales and increase order sizes
- Assist with production planning and inventory management of greenhouse products on an “on demand” basis
- Manage inbound loads and transfers between warehouses

Logistics
- Communication with growers/shippers for pick ups
- Communication with buyers, sales and inventory teams
- Ensuring load temperatures and monitor alarms are addressed with carriers to maintain product integrity and customer compliance for Quality Assurance programs
- Booking phytosanitary inspections with CFIA
- Booking, tracking and scheduling Air, Ocean, Truck & Rail
- Tracking of all shipments and management of documentation
- Track all loads to ensure on time arrivals, trouble shoot potential problems or delays
- Keeping up to date on freight rates as they change throughout the year
- Carrier development and claims negotiation
- Working with other categories to maximize freight
- Booking carriers to deliver orders
- Negotiating pricing with carriers
- Creating load plans and booking delivery appointments
- Coordinating internal loop of assets and maintaining asset inventory levels at designated facilities
- Ongoing communication with carriers for the purposes of tracking orders as well as within the Interprovincial Logistics and Inventory team
- Regularly liaising between the sales teams and the warehouses
- Processing logistic/truck claims, reporting on recovery and follow up with carriers
- Processing customer rejections/returns (order adjustments and Sale adjustment memo’s)
- Following up on proof of delivery and settling delivery discrepancies with Accounts Receivable
- Create transfer orders when needed
- Other duties as they arise and are assigned

**Key Attributes and Skills**:

- Basic knowledge of operations function processes and cross-functional exposure to other company business operations (logistics, inventory management, marketing, supply chain)
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
- Ability to be adaptable and problem solve in new and changing situation
- Team player; ability to build and maintain effective relationships both internal and external
- Planning and organization; strong time management skills and ability to multitask under tight deadlines and through conflicting priorities

- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication

**Education and Experience**:

- Degree or diploma in business or agriculture-related field or relevant experience
- 1-3 years experience in Sales, Procurement, and/or Logistics
- Knowledge of retail sales based trading systems such as iTradeNetwork, SPS, and other platforms considered an asset
