Business Development Account Manager

**Company Overview**: Deveron is an independent third-party agronomy company that services Ag-Retail, Agronomists, Independent growers, Academia and Enterprise in North America. The objective of Deveron is to create value for the production agricultural industry by increasing the efficiency of collecting field scale data and analyzing the multiple layers of information to generate valuable insights. The strategic focus of Deveron is to build partnerships with other members of the agricultural industry that already have existing relationships with producers to provide precision ag analysis to their operations.
**Purpose of Role**: This role is responsible for building and maintain the existing and future network of affiliate partnerships that Deveron utilizes to penetrate the market. Currently the network consists primarily throughout Ontario and Quebec as well a small number in the United States. A goal of this position is to continue to grow the network across Canada and potentially in the United States. The growth is expected to be achieved by networking through a combination of attending industry conferences, social media interaction, digital marketing and direct communication. By maintaining and growing the affiliate network, this role will be responsible for informing the affiliates of the value proposition of the deliverables and assist in developing a communication strategy that they can utilize with their customers. The individual in this position will also be responsible to understand the needs and wants of the affiliate network and communicating this knowledge with the rest of the Deveron team.
**Reporting to**: This position reports directly to the _Sales Manager_ while also indirectly reporting to the Canadian and US Operations, Customer Success Directors to ensure timely delivery of on-farm insights and collection deliverables to affiliates. Work with Customer Experience on creation of new tools and improvements requested by affiliates. Strong communication skills will also allow this individual to communicate with the rest of the Deveron team to ensure the deliverables purchased by the network affiliate partners meet the expectations of the customers. As the network grows, this role could include supervising and managing additional members of the sales/service group.
**Skills Required and/or Encouraged**:
1) Excellent people skills to be able to work with the many personalities of the industry.
2) Able to Actively listen to uncover clients’ true needs, and help client uncover their true needs
3) Ability to creatively position Deveron products in unique ways to solve clients pain points and create value.
4) Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
5) Good negotiating skills
6) Comfortable with travelling across Canada & United States (minimum of 1 week per month)
7) Able to forecast sales and meet budgets
8) Knowledgeable about production agriculture would be an asset
9) Ability to work both as a team member and as an individual
10) Experience in communicating value of novel concepts or approaches to customers.
11) Strong time management and ability to prioritize is essential.
**Experience Required**
1. Post secondary education with an Agricultural diploma or degree.
2. 5 + years of agricultural sales experience
3. CCA designation or the willingness to obtain one.
4. Valid Divers license
**Compensation**: This position will be compensated through a combination of a base salary and performance incentives. The level and combination of both will be determined based on experience and skill set.
