**_ Position Overview:_**

The purpose of this position is to plan, organize, monitor and improve the provision of ED Registration and Admitting within the Clinical Information Services department (OTMH) in accordance with established practices, legislation, and hospital policies.

The incumbent is responsible to lead, mentor and manage a team of registration clerks. They are responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with our various clinical and administrative stakeholders that we interact with such as other departments, funeral homes, Ministry of Health etc.

This is critical work that supports many downstream activities within the Clinical Information Services department as well as other clinical and administrative stakeholders.

**This is what you’ll be doing**:

- Manage staff in accordance with hospital policies and applicable legislation
- Manage daily operations, staff performance and quality by developing and monitoring key performance indicators
- Schedule and monitor staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage of roles
- Responsible for recruitment, performance appraisals and disciplining of staff
- Review monthly budget and financial reports and report back on any concerns
- Enforce department policies and procedures in alignment with corporate policies and procedures
- Prepare and update applicable policies and procedures
- Shared responsibilities for the management the morgue
- Adhere to legal requirements
- Responsible for training all personnel
- Manage relationships with clinical and administrative stakeholders
- Troubleshoot any system issues

- Must be a graduate from a recognized Medical Office Administrative program; graduate from a recognized Health Information Program and/or undergraduate degree in HIM or equivalent experience an asset
- Understanding of registration data, data flows and interfaces
- Working knowledge of Public Hospital Act (PHA), Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and other applicable legislation
- Previous leadership experience in a hospital setting; preferrable registration and/or admitting an asset
- Solid communication skills both verbal and oral
- Results oriented with the ability to prioritize and deliver against key priorities
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, work collaboratively and resolve problems
