**The Event Production and Operations Coordinator**:

- Maintains a thorough technical knowledge of all aspects of venue production and technical capabilities, to accurately communicate capabilities and limitations with clients and users in the presentation of events.
- Facilitates the delivery of high-quality production and operations services and support for all users and coordinates the work of Venue Technicians.
- Is an ambassador for the Society when dealing with rentals, presentations, and volunteers.
- Schedules and supervises IATSE 118 technicians and staff for all events within the organization.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Works collaboratively with the Event Services Manager in the coordination of all venue activities, and production services.
- In consultation with clients, determines production timelines and estimates, and produces schedules for the coordination of Venue Technicians.
- Reviews technical riders and documents related to events in producing labour schedules and estimates.
- Reviews lighting paperwork, ground plans and sound documents to prepare instructions to Venue Technicians.
- Interprets, creates, and edits CAD plans, plots, and schematics necessary for the communication of production requirements.
- Assists the venue user with any pre-production questions and concerns. Provide user document and technical specifications as required. Assist guest designers and creative artists in all production matters. Leads venue tours.
- Provides client support in realizing vision and artistic endeavours and offers creative solutions.
- Coordinates the schedules and work for Union Venue Technicians and ensures accurate timesheet recording.
- Provides training, direction, and assistance to Venue Technicians in the correct installation and operation of lighting and audio consoles, lighting instruments and equipment, audio equipment, projectors, cabling, hardware, and other such devices.
- Provides training, direction, and assistance to Venue Technicians in the correct operation and installation of venue equipment.
- Occasionally as required, maintains a presence onsite and/or operates technical equipment during performances, exhibitions, and events.
- Ensures production and show reports for all events are completed.
- Facilitates equipment repairs with service providers, coordinates operational service providers (janitorial, security, parking permits, facility maintenance, etc.)
- Facilitates regular maintenance and care efforts for theatre equipment. Maintains records of work.
- Determination of appropriate equipment and systems maintenance schedules. Maintains knowledge of the maintenance requirements of systems.
- Maintains safety standards, practices and policies. Assists the Executive Director with updating as required
- Updates inventory lists and tracking equipment movement to maintain accurate inventory of all technical equipment, tools, and property. Maintains a report on the condition of the theatre equipment.
- Maintains knowledge of industry and technology changes by reading online publications, and attending technology seminars and tradeshows.
- Prepares “shopping” lists of materials needed for the continuing operation of the venues with a particular emphasis, but not limited to, audio and lighting supplies and materials required to maintain an inventory of necessary materials.

**Qualifications**
- Generalist knowledge of all areas of technical production.
- Able to interpret CAD plans, plots, and schematics necessary for the communication of production requirements.
- Thorough knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety and Work Safe BC protocols and practices in addition to the safety protocols standard to the performance and theatre industries.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task with little supervision.
- Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and work calmly under pressure.
- Excellent client and artist communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent customer service and client relations skills.
- Ability to coordinate the work of others in a fast-paced environment with strict timelines.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

**Education and Certifications**
- Completion of Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution, supplemented by a minimum of 3 years directly related experience or an acceptable equivalent combination of training and experience.
- LPEC Certification
- Valid OFA Level 1 Certification
- WHIMIS Certification
- Fall Protection
- Live Event Supervisor Training

**Salary**: $60,000.00 per year
