**Job Summary**:
**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Work with members of the Communications team to develop creative written content and graphic design for internal and external communication materials and digital and traditional platforms, including but not limited to:

- social media, including content planning, develop and supporting rich media
- corporate editorials, including blogs, articles, media advisories and speaking notes
- digital and print advertisements
- mobile/road signs
- corporate reports, collateral and guides
- presentations
- Manage the weekly development and implementation of corporate editorial schedules.
- Coordinate advertisements and other content with community publications, vendors and digital marketing organizations.
- Support monitoring of media and social media activity; flag emerging issues and develop daily reports on key issues.
- Provide support for divisional and organizational communications & marketing strategies and projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in Communications, Digital Communications, Visual Communications and Design, Marketing or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign.
- Practical knowledge of design fundamentals for print and digital channels, and demonstrated creativity in visual and written storytelling.
- Knowledge and passion for learning on emerging internal and external communications practices.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across a variety of internal and external channels and platforms.
- Great time management skills, capable of planning and implementing work in an organized manner under tight deadlines with competing priorities in a collaborative environment.

**Preferred**
- Superior writing skills and ability to produce high-quality content for a variety of audiences, channels and formats
- Familiarity with major third-party social media posting platforms (such as Hootsuite).
- Awareness of digital accessibility requirements under the Ontario IASR.
- Past employment or extra-curricular/volunteer experience in a communications or digital role in a government or large organization.
- Interest in photography and videography.

**Working Conditions**
- Travel within Halton region is required; incumbent must provide their own transportation.
- Some flexibility in working hours will be required to support critical projects and responsibilities (core hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)

**Employment Conditions**
- A valid Ontario G class driver’s license.
- Internet access with ability to work in a hybrid environment.
- A current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Criminal Records Check, by the first day of employment.
