Edmonton, Canada College Plaza ENT Medical Office Full time

Seeking a permanent MOA for a surgeon’s private office. Must be independent, organized, and committed to excellent patient care. This is a small office with a small team, so consistency and dependability are crucial. The individual will be the first contact for the office and must present a calm and caring demeanor that represents the values of the clinic. Willingness to learn and grow is a must.

Hours: 32 to 40 hrs (negotiable); 8 to 4 PM Monday to Friday (no weekends, stat holidays)

Tentative Start Date: January 2024.

Location: Edmonton, University Area.

Responsibilities (job functions include, but are not limited to):

- Patient reception and telephone handling; identify and prioritize concerns
- Performing financial transactions such as debit, credit card, and cash
- Dealing with courier and lab services
- Maintaining cleanliness of reception area and waiting room
- Manage appointment bookings and maintain physician schedule
- Receive and schedule referrals
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- Process medical records; entering patient information into EMR/scanning files to EMR and index into appropriate patient charts
- Prepare clinic rooms, procedure areas and maintain cleanliness of the clinic
- Maintain medical and office supply inventory for the clinic
- Instrument processing and IPC
- Other responsibilities as needed

Key Qualities:

- Able to effectively and efficiently multitask, organize and work under pressure and/or time constraints.
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and working in a small team

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma, Technical School or University education;
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Office Assistant program
- Experience with HealthQuest, ConnectCare, Netcare
- At least 2 years experience in a specialist clinic would be a huge asset
