The Development Officer, Annual Giving reports to the Director of Resource Development and is responsible for securing funds across various revenue streams such as annual giving, individual giving, and volunteer management. This full-time role involves soliciting individual and corporate donations, crafting and executing fundraising plans, and fostering relationships to meet fundraising objectives. Additionally, the role includes oversight of sponsored employees.
**ABOUT UNITED WAY NIAGARA**:
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Communicate United Way’s mission, goals, and programs to donors and volunteers.
- Collaborate with teams across Individual Giving, Annual Giving, Marketing & Communications, and Community Impact to develop and execute cultivation, solicitation, and retention strategies to generate revenue for community programs.
- Manage designated workplace accounts, focusing on cultivating relationships with leadership donors to advance them through the donor pipeline.
- Recruit, train, and supervise sponsored employees.
- Coordinate high-quality volunteer experiences for donors, prospective donors, and organizations.
- Utilize Raiser’s Edge CRM database for reporting and data compilation to assess progress towards revenue goals and effectiveness.
- Foster relationships with workplace partners to enhance engagement and fundraising opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**KEY ASSETS**:
- Experience with databases and Microsoft office;
- Proven communication skills including written, interpersonal, and oral/presentation skills;
- Exemplary organization and time management skills, interpersonal skills, and computer skills;
- Willingness to learn new skills and motivation to implement them;
- Commitment to providing strong customer service to donors, fundraising staff, volunteers, and key stakeholders;
- Ability to work collaboratively and self-directed;
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:
Education: Post-Secondary education and/or relevant combination of education and work experience in fundraising, public relations or a related field.
Experience: 2-3 years of demonstrated fundraising and/or customer service experience.
Other: Access to reliable transportation.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT**:
The Development Officer, Annual Giving will be expected to work a combination from the St. Catharines United Way office, remotely and directly with workplaces and businesses throughout the Niagara Region.
