Marine Project Coordinator

As a family-owned company founded in 1971 in the scrap metal recycling industry, Amix has since expanded into a wide range of services, including marine salvage, marine projects, marine towing and barging, concrete sales and steel distribution. The Amix Group consists of six companies providing specialized and quality service. These companies include Amix Recycling, Amix Marine Projects, Amix Marine Services, Amix Marine Salvage, Western Concrete, and Amix Steel and Surplus.
**Job Overview**
Amix is looking for a dedicated and skilled individual to fulfill an exciting, fast paced position as the Marine Projects Coordinator (MPC). Reporting to the Director, Marine Projects, the MPC will be responsible for providing support to the Marine Project Managers and including but not limited to assisting in providing project and administrative support, coordinating project and financial plans as needed, and successfully supporting the Marine Projects Team in the completion of these projects, up to and including client handover.
**Responsibilities**:
The Marine Project Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
- Provide project support and administration for the marine construction project based in Squamish, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate with the Project Team and Management to help support project scopes, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders, and obtain necessary approvals and permits.
- Provide support to project teams, including subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff, to ensure efficient project execution and compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Assist with monitoring project progress, identifying risks and issues, and documenting throughout the shift.
- Communicate regularly with the project team and management provide updates on project status, address concerns, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Assist with and prepare project reports, presentations, and other documentation to management and stakeholders, highlighting key accomplishments, milestones, and areas for improvement.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and excellence within project teams, promoting adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Work as a team in a respectful and safe manner while ensuring day to day efficiency for the Marine Projects Team
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- 3 to 5 years in proven Project Coordinator experience in the marine construction industry.
- Knowledge of project work permits.
- Knowledge of safe working practices at industrial sites.
- EIT or PMP certification or similar is considered an asset.
- Marine projects and or work in an oil and gas environment.
- Experience working on and around cranes and be onsite.
- Required shift work to be on site.
- Current Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices in marine construction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices in marine construction. Ability to read engineering drawings.
