**Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.**
**Rate of Pay: $27.17 starting rate of pay**
**Anticipated Start Date: April 1, 2024**

**About the role**:
At Compass Early Learning & Care Lindsay you will work as an Administrative Culture Lead alongside some of the most passionate, caring, and dedicated educators in the industry. You will spend your time engaging, connecting, and learning alongside children, families, community partners and co-workers. You will model and grow a perspective of equity and strive for a deeper understanding of cultural awareness. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shift times will fluctuate within the program hours of 7 am to 6 pm. This role will be a one year contract to start with the potential to move into a permanent role based on program needs.
**Some accountabilities associated with the role include**:
- Participate/facilitate in staff meetings
- Support a culture of research, inquiry, and learning
- Planning and implementing play-based experiences based on children’s interests
- Ensuring the safety of staff and children and completing Health and Safety inspections
- Providing coverage for the educators when needed.
- Administering payroll, billing, subsidy reconciliations, maintaining staff files, and coordinating staffing needs
- Administering the programs budget in partnership with the finance team
- Following and supporting Ministry Licensing and Reporting guidelines
- Building and maintaining relationships with children and families, staff, volunteers, students, community partners, and school staff, including principals, custodians, and teaching teams in shared spaces.
- Ensuring the safety of staff and children by learning and acknowledging all children’s diverse needs and backgrounds, and creating equitable opportunities for all children to engage.
- Demonstrating respect for spaces by ensuring the safety and cleanliness of all equipment, furniture, and materials. Welcoming new families and children into the program.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Is registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- You have a natural disposition towards administration, organization, research, and inquiry.
- You are comfortable with technology and learning new software processes.
- Has a clear understanding of CCEYA (Child Care Early Years Act), related legislation, and Compass ELC policies and procedures.
- Has a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Early Learning Sector.
- Has 1-2 years of administration experience.
- Possesses the training and documents required by the Ministry of Education, Compass Early Learning and Care, and the Child Care Early Years Act to work in a childcare setting:
- Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
- Updated immunization records (Or a signed and notarized refusal of affidavit or medical exemption).
- Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators, or has a post-secondary degree in a similar field (i.e. Child and Youth Care, Recreation and Leisure, Bachelor of Education, etc.)
