Reporting to the Supervisor, Outbreak Management, in the Infectious Disease Control Division, this position provides support to the Outbreak Management team by receiving, assessing and monitoring incoming lab results, providing intake support for facilities reporting symptoms of respiratory infection as well as inquiries from the general public around respiratory illness, data management support, and coordination of work assignments for the Outbreak Management Team.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Supports requirements for Outbreak Management programming and operations such as:

- Receiving and reviewing faxed lab reports for Halton Region residents
- Entry and processing of lab reports into iPHIS provincial system
- Reporting requirements for COVID-19 deaths in iPHIS
- Assesses acute respiratory infection agent lab results to determine appropriate initiation of follow up by case investigators.
- Supports the maintenance of confidential files and records, including the management, filing, retrieving, and archiving of documents for storage in accordance with Regional protocol and departmental/corporate retention schedule.
- Ensures the confidentiality of data collected with information relating to client records, ensuring they comply with PHIPA, MPHIPA and FOI.
- Creates, monitors and adapts documentation tools and systems for the purpose of maintaining accountability with respect to Ministry outcomes/expectations, and other program requirements.
- Accurately prioritizes, enters, sorts, and collates a high volume of data.
- Performs data cleaning activities as part of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives and to meet data quality standards, working collaboratively with the PHS team.
- Receives outbreak related correspondence from congregate living settings, distributing to appropriate case investigator or file for follow up.
- Receives and responds to service requests internally and externally, escalating issues when required.
- Supports data requirements for external and internal program evaluation, consultations, and special projects.
- Assists user set up, training, mentoring, and support to the Outbreak Team staff.
- Provides excellent customer service to clients, health care providers, and other stakeholders.
- Works collaboratively with Public Health colleagues, participates in team meetings/huddles, and divisional, departmental, interdepartmental, and community committees as required. Performs other duties as assigned.**Skills & Qualifications**
- Secondary school diploma and/or post-secondary education focusing on health related studies and/or business administration or equivalent work experience.
- Recent experience in assessment of lab results, data coordination activities including outbreak/case and contact management program areas.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of provincial and outbreak management related software (i.e. iPHIS, CCMS, Halton Salesforce).
- Familiarity with Ministry of Health ID Protocol: Respiratory Infection Outbreaks in Institutions and Public Hospitals, PHIPA and other applicable legislation.
- Strong assessment and decision making skills with high analytical focus related to facilitate prioritization for follow up.
- Strong time management, organization, critical thinking, decision-making and problem solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, strong political acuity, and proven ability to address escalated customer service issues in a calm and customer focused manner.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in health discipline, health administration, business, or other related field.
- Knowledge and skill in project management, change management, evidence informed practices and stakeholder
