About the role
- iShares Canada & AIB, as part of the Global Client Business, and in collaboration with the RBC iShares Alliance, are responsible for driving deeper relationships with wealth platforms in Canada, through the development and commercialization of BlackRock-managed models as well as complementary products and solutions
- The whole portfolio team provides a cross-functional focus to drive the success of this strategy
- We are looking for a VP to join BlackRock’s team with a focus on our innovative new offerings - the BlackRock Whole Portfolio working on evolving our models offering and commercialization
- The role is multi-faceted and will help position the business for the future by bringing our offering to market through partnerships across Canadian Asset Managers & Wealth Platforms
- Many of our product solutions are in growth positions and the individual who fills this role will play an integral part in developing and implementing strategies that drive further development of BlackRock Canada’s Model business and broader wealth offering, in partnership with iShares Canada & AIB

Primary Responsibilities:

- Working with the distribution teams across BlackRock Canada, identify additional 3rd party platforms for consideration and evaluation
- Partner with MASS, including MPS and Core PM, in the development and implementation of solutions for Canadian wealth platforms, based on client specifications and local market requirements
- Launch BlackRock Whole Portfolios on 3rd party platforms with an emphasis on strategic clients:

- Lead negotiations to agree on favorable economic terms
- Work closely with legal and vendor management to develop contracts, terms and conditions and statement of work
- Define the user experience including workflows
- Determine the service model including processes and service level agreements
- Coordinate required tech and ops integrations for each client platform
- Work closely with marketing, National Accounts and Sales to drive marketing, training, and sales activation
- Once the platforms are launched, manage the on-going business including commercialization efforts, measurement, and enhancements.

- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
- Experience with technology platforms
- Ability to lead cross-functional virtual teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with demonstrated analytical ability
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Flexible, responsive, and self-starting personality. Demonstrated experience working both independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative, complex environment
- A genuine inclination for designing effective processes and the ability to work through complex problems and challenges to provide innovative insights
- Experience with retail financial advisor industry and portfolios a strong plus
- Investment expertise and positioning of outsourced wealth solutions
- Eagerness to learn and understand all aspects of SMA and model portfolio business.

**Requirements**:

- 5-10 years of relevant asset management industry experience with Managed Account (SMA) experience preferred
- BA/BS degree required
- Knowledge of ETFs, mutual funds, and separate accounts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with demonstrated analytical ability
- Effective public speaking and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of capital markets and portfolio construction.
