Outreach and Caregiver Support Coordinator

Caregivers Nova Scotia is seeking a passionate and dedicated Outreach and Caregiver Support Coordinator to join our team. This full-time position will combine outreach responsibilities with caregiver support services, ensuring that we effectively serve the community and provide valuable resources to caregivers.
**Primary Duties**:
**Outreach Coordinator Responsibilities (50%)**:
- Establish and maintain community partnerships and relationships with underserved caregivers and communities across Nova Scotia.
- Contribute to grant writing and reporting for special projects.
- Record information in a confidential database.
- Contribute to a semi-annual newsletter.
- Research information and resources to assist Caregivers Nova Scotia.
- Complete quantitative and qualitative monthly statistical reports in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
**Caregiver Support Coordinator Responsibilities (50%)**:
- Organize and facilitate peer support groups for caregivers.
- Establish and maintain community partnerships for outreach and networking.
- Organize special events, such as Caregiver Appreciation Teas and Caregiver Retreats.
- Host information booths at health fairs and wellness events.
- Give presentations explaining Caregivers Nova Scotia programs and services.
- Deliver educational workshops to support caregivers.
- Research information and resources to assist caregivers and Caregivers Nova Scotia.
- Complete quantitative and qualitative monthly statistical reports in a timely manner.
**Working Conditions**:
- The workweek is Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a one-hour unpaid lunch. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
- This is a remote work from home position.
- A reliable vehicle is required for travel to various locations; expenses will be reimbursed per Caregivers Nova Scotia travel policy and the government of Nova Scotia mileage rate.
**Employment Requirements**:
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of caregivers and the organization.
- High level of empathy and compassion; approachable and friendly personality.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including public speaking.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of local community resources and experience in effective grant writing.
- A background in caregiving or peer support is highly desirable.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but not required.
- Experience in the health professions is beneficial but not required.
**Preference will be given to applicants of African Nova Scotian descent.**
